A dental implant is an artificial replacement of tooth which is made up of Titanium metal. It is screw shaped and is inserted into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth.
Before considering an implant, a dental and radiographic examination is done. Implant placement occurs in two stages. First, implants are placed within the bone of the jaw and allowed to heal. It may take 3-6 months, once the implant bonds to jawbone it is restored with a crown.
